Some project-related maps are available in the Maps Gallery. Some are in the Community group and others are in the Thematic group
The Mid-Sound Fisheries Report was done to identify project areas
The 2001 May Creek Basin Plan was produced by King County
The May Creek Erosion and Sediment study and report focused on creek areas downstream from the flooding area
A proposed development called Serenity Estates was located on Squak Mountain. The development did not occur and some of the land involved was purchased with the initial intent of harvesting the trees.
The owner has expressed intent to clear cut the forest which has raised resident concerns. Of note is the concern expressed by residents downstream of the project site. The May Valley area of May Creek, whose headwaters are in proximity to the project site, has serious flooding problems.
The project is intended to determine the short- and long-term hydrological impacts of such a clear cut.
